"Året var 1904, slottet, kyrkan och Grindstugan och arbetarbyn stod precis färdiga. På det magnifika slottet bodde fru Blanche Dickson, änka efter den förmögne göteborgsköpmannen James Fredrik Dickson. Under sex års tid hade hon i samråd med den unge arkitekten Lars Israel Wahlman (1870-1952) låtit uppföra en av Sveriges märkligaste byggnader.
Egendomen Tjolöholm är känd sedan 1200-talet, då den omnämns i den danske Kong Valdemars Jordebog. Under seklen därefter kan ägarlängden stoltsera med en mängd namnkunniga släkter. År 1892 köptes Tjolöholm av paret James Fredrik och Blanche Dickson. På godset lät de anlägga dåtidens största svenska stuteri med uppfödning av förnämliga rashästar. I anslutning till stuteriet fanns också en körskola för blivande kuskar.
1897 utlyste Dickson en arkitekttävlan om ett slott i elisabetansk stil och trots sin andraplats med bidraget ”Hobgoblin” gick uppdraget att rita slottet till Lars Israel Wahlman. Inspiration hämtades, inte minst, från den brittiska Arts- & Craftrörelsens förkärlek för materialäkthet och högkvalitativt konsthantverk.
Kort efter att slottet påbörjats avled James Fredrik Dickson till följd av blodförgiftning som han fått genom att vira stanniolpapper från en flaska om ett skadat finger för att stämma blod, och slottsbygget fullföljdes av Blanche Dickson."

During the six years she was in consultation with the young architect Lars Israel Wahlman ( 1870-1952) had built one of Sweden's most remarkable buildings.
Tjolöholm The property is known since 1200s, when it is mentioned in the Danish Kong Valdemar Jordebog. For centuries thereafter, the length can be owners boast a variety of well-known families. The whole building style reminded very much of England and some of my thoughts flew to London where I worked 1990th I worked in "the nice neighborhoods" in Hamster Heath.
I enlighet med dåtidens tankeströmningar ritade slottsarkitekten Lars Israel Wahlman inte bara slottet utan även den intillliggande parken. Närmast slottet anlades en stram, tuktad trädgård som sedan gradvis anpassades till det omgivande landskapet så att slottet ser ut att växa upp ur omgivningen.
Tjolöholmshalvön är känd för sitt rika djur- och växtliv. Här erbjuds mängder av promenadstigar som passerar naturskyddade gammelekar, strandängar, utsiktpunkter, karga klippstränder och lummiga ädellövsskogar.
Dalier fanns i minst 20 olika färger dock var dom andra enkel blommande medan denna var mer än stjärna.
Där var idegranar säkert mer än 100 år klippta som stora koner och så var det inslag av Agave.
